Things I enjoy sharing in my images at the light outside photography.

Beauty in the quiet of the every day.

I grew up in North Yorkshire close to the Yorkshire Dales.

A digital photographer, I’m drawn to nature and natural processes: water forms; geology; how the land lies and how it recolonises after communities have turned away from it; and the lives of the people who live and work close to nature still. I also explore pattern and abstraction in my work – honing in on that which sometimes goes ‘unseen’. Being in nature is restorative, I feel, and I aim to capture something of that in my images.

Currently official photographer for The Settle-Carlisle Railway Partnership – this is a delight for me, as I find much to inspire up in the fells and dales of Yorkshire & Cumbria. I have a particular interest in remote and beautiful Dentdale.

In 2017 I was honoured to receive a Martin Parr award for my work during Hull’s City of Culture celebrations.
