murmurate

A study of starlings flocking on two consecutive nights. A gathering in the Yorkshire Dales village of Long Preston which I have never seen again since. This is the winter of 2013. Aside from the spectacle, what I will remember most is the thrum of wings as the birds wheeled low overhead. Amazing.
